About this book

You have read The Science of Getting Rich. Maybe twice. The question is what any of it has actually changed. This deck turns Wattles's book into something you can test. One deck for every chapter, ten experiments in each, one hundred and seventy in total. Read a chapter, open its deck, and pick the one experiment that speaks to you. You are not meant to do all ten. Each card gives you the experiment and what to do on the front, and on the back it tells you why you are doing it and asks for your proof: what happened when you tried this. Mark it done, keep a photo or a note, and watch the evidence stack up in your History. Wattles never asked to be believed. He asked to be practiced. This is how you find out for yourself.

What’s inside

17 decks, 171 cards

A stack of two-sided cards. Shuffle, pull one whenever you like, save the ones that land.

  1. 01

    1. The Right to Be Rich

Wanting wealth is not greed. Money is the means to a fuller expression of body, mind and soul, and you cannot live fully without it.

  2. 02

    2. There Is a Science of Getting Rich

Wealth is not handed out by environment, talent, thrift or luck. Wattles argues that results follow from doing things in a Certain Way, and that anyone can learn it.

  3. 03

    3. Is Opportunity Monopolized?

Opportunity has not run out. Wealth is being created continuously, and nobody has to be pushed aside for you to advance.

    10 cards

  4. 04

    4. The First Principle

Thought comes before the thing. Wattles's foundation is that you must form a clear thought of what you want before it can be created.

    10 cards

  5. 05

    5. Increasing Life

Life seeks more of itself. Wattles argues that wealth should increase life, for you and for everyone you touch, rather than simply accumulate.

    10 cards

  6. 06

    6. How Riches Come to You

Do not try to get something for nothing. Give every person more in use value than you take from them in cash value, and stay open to receiving what you want.

    10 cards

  7. 07

    7. Gratitude

Gratitude keeps your attention on abundance and, in Wattles's framework, keeps you connected to the source more good comes from. It is a practice, not a mood.

    10 cards

  8. 08

    8. Thinking in the Certain Way

The vision has to be clear, definite and held with purpose and faith. A vague wish for more is not a vision.

    10 cards

  9. 09

    9. How to Use the Will

Use your will on yourself, never on other people or on circumstances. Applied inward it keeps you in the Certain Way; applied outward it is wasted.

    10 cards

  10. 10

    10. Further Use of the Will

Stop feeding your attention on pictures of poverty, failure and everything you do not want. What you study, you move toward.

    10 cards

  11. 11

    11. Acting in the Certain Way

Thought alone will not do it. Thought must be joined to personal action, and the action has to happen now, where you already are.

    10 cards

  12. 12

    12. Efficient Action

It is not about doing more. Every act done well moves you forward, and today's efficient action creates tomorrow's advance.

    10 cards

  13. 13

    13. Getting into the Right Business

Desire is evidence of undeveloped ability. You do not have to already have every skill before you move toward the work you want.

    10 cards

  14. 14

    14. The Impression of Increase

Become a source of more. Every interaction leaves people expanded rather than diminished, and you hold yourself as someone advancing too.

    10 cards

  15. 15

    15. The Advancing Man

Become a person who is visibly advancing and who helps others advance. Advancement draws opportunity toward you.

    10 cards

  16. 16

    16. Some Cautions and Concluding Observations

Do not let conditions, forecasts or a setback pull you out of the Certain Way. Keep thinking and acting in it, especially when something has not worked.

    10 cards

  17. 17

    17. Summary of the Science of Getting Rich

Everything together: a clear vision, held with purpose and faith, carried in gratitude, kept creative rather than competitive, and joined to efficient action today.

CHAPTER 1

Define Your Rich Life

Go and spend an hour somewhere that belongs to the life you want: a place, a shop, a neighbourhood, a room.

Turn

Define Your Rich Life

A number cannot pull you anywhere, because you cannot picture it. Standing in it for an hour does what writing about it cannot. Build your proof Where did you go, and what were you actually after while you were there? Attach a picture from where you went.

THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RICH

Find the Exception

Take one belief such as you need connections to succeed, and find one real person who disproves it.

Turn

Find the Exception

A single counterexample is enough to turn a law back into an opinion. One is all you need to find. Build your proof Who did you find, and what did that do to the belief?

THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RICH

Find the Open Door

Take one door you believe is closed and physically try three other routes today: send, ask, apply.

Turn

Find the Open Door

The door being shut is rarely the same thing as the building being shut, and trying settles it faster than thinking. Build your proof What happened at each of the three? Attach a picture of what you sent.
